• What are the biggest challenges and attractions of the job?

Contracting is not an easy occupation. Supply chain issues, subcontractor labor shortages, material procurement decisions, to name a few can be very challenging. I think the challenges are part of the attraction. Being able to solve problems and create viable and economical solutions are one of the things that has kept me attracted to construction. Of course the ultimate reward is seeing the look on the client's face when they see their dream home become a reality. That is the icing on the cake!

  • Do you have a signature style?

We are custom builders. Your style is our style. If you can dream it, we can build it.

  • Who will design my project?

My partner has a degree in Architecture and can help you with decisions related to design and the selection of an Architectural firm. We have several architects that we team up with. You can choose from one of ours to help with your custom home design or use any others you may prefer.

  • What project management services do you provide?

Complete project management from inception to handing you the keys. We provide field supervision, project administration, estimating services, etc.

  • How do you charge?

Most construction projects are billed monthly.

  • Can you provide three-dimensional drawings?

We can request that 3D images be included in the design package.

  • Why do I need an architect?

The State of Florida requires projects to be designed and engineered by licensed architects and engineers.

  • What makes you a good architect?

A good architect listens intently to you to understand what your mind's eye is thinking before ever putting pencil to paper.

  • How does the design process work?

You will meet with the architect several times so that he or she can better understand your project. Once the initial concept is created on paper and you approve it, the architect and his team will then create a set of documents for permitting with the local authorities.

  • What is the estimated timeline for my project?

Really this is very dependent on the design, however, most custom homes can be built in approximately 12 months give or take. Commercial projects vary widely and are dependent on several factors.

  • What is and isn't included in your fee?

Our fee is a part of the project cost. Depending on the type of project approach used, our fee can be a percentage of the cost of the work or a fixed amount. When we sit together to discuss a construction project approach, this will be one of the topics.

  • Do you stay involved during the construction process?

I am intimately involved in each of my projects. For many scopes of contracting work, we will perform them with our own team rather than subcontractors. For those scopes, you may even see me wearing a tool belt and being part of the field crew!

  • What builders or contractors would you recommend for my project?

There are many contractors/builders for you to choose from. Building your project is a long-term commitment for both parties and ensuring that you choose a partner you feel most comfortable with is of paramount importance. We know that once you've had a chance to meet us, we will be your contractor of choice!
